Graduated in Business Administration from EAESP – FGV (1972), with specialization in Advanced Management (Fundação Dom Cabral and INSEAD – Fontainebleau, France, 1991), Entrepreneurship (Babson College – Boston, USA, 2004), and Corporate Governance – Corporate Governance Board Leadership – TOT – Training of Trainers (IFC – IBGC – 2009, 2011, 2013, and 2016). He is a member of the Boards of Directors and Advisory Boards of several companies and nonprofit organizations. He served as President of CVM – Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission in 1992 and co-founded the IBGC – Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance in 1995, where he remains actively involved in various committees. He is a member of  IBEF (Brazilian Institute of Financial Executives), where he received the Equilibrista of the Year Trophy in 1990, FBN (Family Business Network), IAAB (INSEAD Alumni Association of Brazil), LIDE (Business Leadership Association), CEAL (Latin American Business Council), Abrasca (Brazilian Association of Publicly Held Companies). Currently serves on the Board of Directors of Braskem S.A., Irani Papel e Embalagem S.A., CHP – Habitasul, and Litela S.A. He is also part of the Board of Trustees of the Fundação Dorina Nowill para Cegos (Vice President), Fundação Crespi Prado (Trustee and CEO), and Fundação Norberto Odebrecht. Additionally, he serves as President of the Fiscal Council of Banco BMG and as a Director of the Fundação Ema Klabin.
